PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This tool is unique when it comes to “barrel” tooling. The MQT is able to use the barrel shape and ideology but in a 3 axis machine. There are 3 different angled bodies (0°, 3°, and 5°) that cover a range of tapered walls from 0° – 8°. These bodies have high tolerance pockets for the ground inserts. The “barrel” inserts have a radius of 60mm, basically making it a 120mm ball nose. This allows for larger step-downs while maintaining a small cusp height and keeping the surface finish the same or better. This tool is very cost-effective by decreasing semi/finishing machine time and using inserts with multiple cutting edges.
